Bolat Kalyanbekov, deputy head of the Kurultai apparatus, gave an explanation regarding the format of journalists' work with deputies. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to him, now journalists will work with deputies and invited government members only in the press center and within the framework of the Kurultai agenda.
Briefings are held regularly
Kalyanbekov noted that briefings are held on a regular basis. The press service announces in advance the participants of the briefing and its topic.
«"The press center has all the conditions for media representatives to work: Wi-Fi, comfortable workstations, and simultaneous interpretation is provided," said Bolat Kalyanbekov.»

Main goal – explaining draft laws
The main goal is to convey to the public the essence of draft laws considered at the Kurultai as clearly and fully as possible, to reveal the significance of each legal innovation, and to explain how the decisions made will affect the lives of citizens.
If journalists have questions to deputies that are not related to the Kurultai agenda, they can contact the press services of the Kurultai or political parties.
«"The press service will help quickly arrange an interview with a deputy," said the deputy head of the apparatus.»

According to him, some media representatives have already managed to take advantage of this opportunity. They received the necessary support from the press service.
Innovations comply with legislation
«"The innovations proposed at the Kurultai fully comply with the legislation of Kazakhstan and the model rules for media accreditation. The above-mentioned approaches will be approved in the new accreditation rules, which will be adopted by the Kurultai bureau," he said.»

It is also worth noting that the Kurultai building is a guarded facility. The building has mandatory access and internal regime requirements for everyone.
World experience
Kalyanbekov noted that this approach is also used in world practice.
«"In the world's leading parliaments, the interaction of media representatives with deputies, especially conducting interviews, live television broadcasts, and filming, is organized in specially designated areas. This allows creating the necessary conditions for the professional work of journalists and transferring communication with Kurultai deputies into a systematic and organized channel," said the deputy head of the Kurultai apparatus.»
