Kazakhstan will change the procedure for social benefits related to job loss, the Ministry of Labor reports. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The new procedure takes effect on October 1. The benefit period will be a maximum of three months.
This change applies to citizens whose right to receive the social benefit arises from October 1 of this year.
Under the pilot project, the duration of the social benefit is determined by the length of the citizen's participation in the mandatory social insurance system.
"A citizen who participated in the system from 6 to 12 months receives the benefit for 1 month, with participation from 12 to 24 months — 2 months, and with participation of 24 months or more — 3 months," the ministry says.
In addition, from October 1, a maximum amount of the social benefit for job loss is established.
It amounts to 45% of 7 minimum wages established by the law on the republican budget on the day the right to receive the benefit arises.
The specific amount paid to each citizen is calculated based on their average monthly income from which social contributions were made over the last 24 months, and the length of their participation in the mandatory social insurance system.
