Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov explained the procedure for introducing a point system for drivers. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The ministry studied international experience and developed the new system.
"There are currently gross violators who ignore fines. In order to combat them, we are working on the issue of introducing a point system. In this system, every offense and its severity level will be taken into account. Along with a fine, for repeated and serious offenses, suspension of a driver's license for one year is envisaged," Sadenov said at today's government meeting.
According to the minister, the relevant amendments to the traffic rules will soon be submitted for consideration to the Kurultai.
