A court in the Zhambyl region has sentenced employees found guilty of the deaths of four railway workers. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The tragic incident occurred on December 10, 2025, on the "Shechenkara – Karazhyngyl" stretch. A freight train struck members of a brigade carrying out track repair works.

According to the prosecutor's office, the works were carried out without closing the track and without necessary safety measures. The train driver was not timely warned about people on the tracks.

As a result, four workers died, and two more were injured.

By court verdict, the train dispatcher was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment. Two employees of the Saryshagan track distance were sentenced to 3 years and 6 months of restriction of freedom.

Additionally, all three were banned from engaging in activities related to ensuring traffic safety on railway transport.
