Changes have been made to the procedure for collecting tolls on the Big Almaty Ring Road. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The relevant changes were approved by order of the department's leadership. The main feature of the changes is that for users who pay tolls on time, the payment amount will remain at the previous level.
"Thus, for users who make payments on time, the cost of travel will remain from 0.07 MCI (302.75 tenge) to 0.22 MCI (951.5 tenge) depending on the vehicle category," the message says.
In addition, the order revised the basic tariffs. They are set from 0.14 MCI (605.5 tenge) to 0.44 MCI (1903 tenge) depending on the vehicle category.
However, these tariffs apply only if the toll is not paid within seven working days after registration. That is, the changes are aimed at encouraging compliance with the payment procedure and do not affect users who pay tolls on time.
The procedure for calculating the cost of travel remains unchanged. As before, the payment amount is calculated depending on the vehicle category and the time spent on the toll section up to one hour. The distance traveled does not affect the toll.
"For residents of Talgar, Karasai and Ile districts of Almaty region, existing benefits are also preserved. For users of this category, the cost of monthly and annual subscriptions will not change," the ministry said.
The changes will come into force ten calendar days after the first official publication of the order, that is, from August 16, 2026.
