In Kazakhstan, changes have been made to insurance payments after road accidents. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to amendments to the legislation, insurance payments under compulsory civil liability insurance of vehicle owners will be transferred only non-cash to bank accounts.
As reported by Sputnik Kazakhstan citing the official website of the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, the costs of bank transfers and crediting of funds will be borne by the insurance organization. This ensures receipt of the insurance payment in full without deduction of commission.
The non-cash settlement procedure guarantees the receipt of funds directly by the injured person.
The change takes effect after 60 calendar days from the first official publication, i.e. from October 21, 2026.
