In the city of Zhitikara, Kostanay region, emergency workers rescued a woman who began drowning while swimming in the Shorandy River. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The incident occurred in the evening during a preventive patrol. According to preliminary information, the woman, born in 1990, decided to swim in an area not equipped for recreation. After swimming about 50 meters from the shore, she could not return on her own and began calling for help.

Emergency workers quickly arrived at the scene, brought the woman to shore, and handed her over to police. The rescued woman did not require medical assistance.

"The woman was quickly brought to shore and handed over to police officers. She did not need medical help," the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The ministry reminded that swimming should only be done at equipped beaches, not in prohibited areas, and that one should objectively assess their strength. In case of an emergency, immediately call 112.
