Information about an emergency landing of a military aircraft in Zhezkazgan spread on social media. According to Zhezkazgan Air JSC, the incident occurred on July 10. "An aviation incident involving an AN-12 aircraft was recorded on the territory of the Zhezkazgan city airport. Currently, necessary measures are being taken to ensure flight safety at the airport. In this regard, some airlines may change their flight schedules. Passengers are advised to check the status of their flights with their airlines," the statement said.
The airport administration also noted that the situation is under control and joint work with all authorized services is underway.
The AN-12 is a Soviet four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft developed by the Antonov Design Bureau in the late 1950s. This aircraft is designed for transporting cargo, equipment, and passengers.
