In the Zhetisu region, cargo trucks have been bypassing automatic weight control. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, on a section of the republican significance highway "Saryozek – Koktal" located in the Zhetisu region, facts of heavy vehicles bypassing an automated weighing station were identified. A technical road intended for production needs was used as a bypass route.
"Under the coordination of the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office, bypass roads were blocked with special equipment of the "KazAvtoZhol" branch. Today, the movement of cargo vehicles is carried out through the automated station complex," the statement says.
An interdepartmental working group was created from employees of the prosecutor's office, transport control inspection and administrative police, and a decision was made to increase the number of mobile weight complexes. Together with "KazAvtoZhol", the issue of installing an automated system at the entrance to the city of Konaev is being worked out; these measures will increase the effectiveness of weight parameter control several times, prosecutors say.
During the past period of this year, the transport control inspection brought 22 thousand carriers to administrative responsibility for non-compliance with weight parameters, and they were fined 6 billion tenge. Enterprises that allow vehicles to leave with excess weight are also under scrutiny. During the above period, 363 entities were held liable.
