A tragic road accident near Sarkand in Zhetysu region has claimed five lives. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident occurred on the evening of June 26 at the 432nd kilometer of the Almaty – Ust-Kamenogorsk highway. According to police, two cars collided. As a result, two drivers and three passengers died at the scene.
Two other passengers with various injuries were rushed to a medical facility. A criminal case has been opened and a pre-trial investigation has begun. Currently, the exact causes and circumstances of the accident are being determined.
