In the village of Almali, Sarkand district, Zhetisu region, 8th-grade student Muslim Birzhanuly was stabbed to death by a classmate. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The mother of the deceased schoolboy told a Sputnik Kazakhstan correspondent about the incident.
Stabbed and filmed on video
On October 6, right during class time, one student stabbed another to death.
"During class, the students went one street down from the school and argued. They even filmed on a phone camera how my son was stabbed. The video was recorded on my son's phone. They didn't show me the phone, the police took it," says Samal Mukhamadiyeva, the mother of the deceased schoolboy.
Left for school alive, returned dead
Muslim practiced boxing, while the classmate suspected of killing him practiced wrestling.
"I sent my son to school alive and well. I saw him off in the morning and met him every day, and now he's gone. He was preparing to go to a competition and passed away. My strong son, who never had any pain, did not return from school alive," the mother wept.
"Call 103..."
According to Samal, the knife hit the heart area.
"They stabbed my son and left him there. He cried out in pain, 'Call 103.' I don't know whether the other students ran away, my son was left alone on the road. A passing car stopped, put my son in and went to the hospital. My Muslim died there," says Samal Mukhamadiyeva.
Suspect remains at large
Muslim had only turned 14 on September 29.
"One of the children provoked them, set them against each other. They had studied in the same class since the fifth grade. There were five children nearby, I don't know exactly. His mother sees her son alive, while my son lies buried in the cold ground. I will never see my son again," the mother wailed.
She also said the head of the education department came.
"They kept saying, 'Don't give interviews.' I have lost my son, why should I stay silent. I had only three children, and I lost one," says Samal Mukhamadiyeva.
Samal learned of her son's death at the hospital.
"I allowed the doctors to perform an autopsy on my son. The suspect's relatives did not come to ask for forgiveness, and if they do, I will not forgive them," says the mother.
Woke up from a frightening dream
The day before the incident, Samal had a frightening dream and woke up in fear.
"I screamed and woke up in fear. In my dream there was a lot of police, very scary, they were chasing me. My husband also got scared and kept asking, 'What happened, tell me.' But Muslim did not appear in my dream," says Samal.
Police opened a criminal case
The Zhetisu regional police department opened a criminal case on this fact.
"Police have opened a criminal case on the fact of the murder of a minor child. According to preliminary data, after classes a conflict arose between classmates, during which one of the teenagers received bodily injuries and subsequently died. The suspect was detained and taken to the police department together with legal representatives," the police said.
In addition, a criminal case was opened against employees of the educational organization on the fact of improper performance of duties to ensure the safety of the life and health of children.
The investigation is under the special control of the leadership of the Zhetisu regional police department, the regional police department said.
