Three children from one family died in a fire in the village of Baktybai, Eskeldi district, Zhetisu region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Four families were affected by the fire. Residents told a Sputnik Kazakhstan correspondent about the incident.

When the tragedy happened

The tragedy occurred on September 25 at around seven in the morning. The barrack where 4 families lived burned down.

A neighbour's account

"At half past seven in the morning my daughter and I were asleep at home. A neighbour, a woman named Aigerim, desperately knocked on the window: 'Auntie, auntie, our house is on fire, help.' When we ran out, smoke was coming from the window of the room," said neighbour Saltanat Mukhiyeva.
