Kazakhstan will introduce mandatory digital labeling of light industry goods in stages starting December 1, 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This is being implemented as part of fulfilling the requirements of the EAEU countries' agreement on labeling goods with identification means. The information was distributed by the Ministry of Industry and Construction.
First stage
From December 1, 2026, at the first stage, products made of leather and artificial fur, certain types of clothing, ski suits, as well as some textile products will be labeled. This is stated in the message.
Second stage
From March 1, 2027, certain types of outerwear, shirts, sweaters, pullovers and other goods will be subject to mandatory labeling.
Third stage
And from October 1, 2027, this requirement will apply to suits, jackets, dresses, skirts, trousers, sports suits and other types of clothing.
Labeling mechanism
A unique Data Matrix code is applied to each product. Buyers can scan the code via the Naqty Onim application and check information about the product.
Purpose
The main purpose of labeling is to reduce the volume of illegal circulation and counterfeit products, and to increase market transparency.
