In the summer of 2026, Kazakhstanis made 25.8 million trips on toll roads. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to KazAvtoZhol, between June 1 and August 31, 2026, 25,818,167 vehicle passages were recorded on 28 toll sections of national highways in Kazakhstan.
Over the three summer months, an average of about 281,000 vehicles passed per day.
Busiest routes
The busiest route of the summer season was the Almaty – Konaev section. More than 4.3 million vehicles passed through it over three months.
In second place is the Shymkent – border of the Republic of Uzbekistan route: 2.68 million.
In third place is the Shymkent – Taraz section. On this route, 1.87 million vehicle passages were recorded.
In addition, high traffic intensity was observed on the Taraz – Kainar, Astana – Temirtau, Astana – Shchuchinsk, Shymkent – Kyzylorda and Konaev – Taldykorgan routes.
Ten high-demand sections
On the ten high-demand sections alone, more than 18.2 million vehicles passed. This accounts for approximately 71% of summer traffic on the toll road network.
The geography of car trips shows that demand is high not only on routes connecting major cities of the country, but also on roads leading to popular tourist and recreational areas. These are:

- 04Karaganda – Balkhash;
- 05Kyzylorda – Aral;
- 06Usharal – Dostyk.
According to KazAvtoZhol, the summer traffic figures indicate that cars remain one of the main means of travel within Kazakhstan.
