Kazakhstan continues its free vaccination campaign against human papillomavirus (HPV). To date, over 265,000 girls aged 11–13 have been vaccinated. Girls aged 14–17 can receive the vaccine voluntarily. HPV is a leading cause of cervical cancer. The vaccine is most effective when administered before exposure to the virus. In private clinics in Kazakhstan, a single dose costs between 90,000 and 138,000 tenge. Thanks to the state-funded free vaccination program, parents save at least 180,000 tenge for the full two-dose course. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
