In Kazakhstan, certain categories of students are eligible for compensation of dormitory living expenses up to 100,050 tenge per year. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Akerke Abylaykhan, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said on the air of the program "Bugin Live" on the Jibek Joly TV channel that the payment is provided not only to first-year students.
"Funds in the amount of 100,050 tenge are provided not only in the first year – this support can also be received in the second and third years. This measure is aimed at supporting students of this category," she noted.
Thus, subject to the established conditions, students from these categories can receive compensation for dormitory living during several years of study.
According to the Government of Kazakhstan, a total of 7,145 people should receive the payment. Of these, 4,651 are orphaned students.
