In Kazakhstan, artificial intelligence will monitor the quality of roads as part of the launched E-Joldar platform. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The unified digital system E-Joldar, launched two months ago, allows real-time monitoring of road conditions, the quality of materials used, and repair costs.
This ensures end-to-end control at all stages, from design and construction of road projects to repair and ongoing operation. In addition, the system not only records the current state of the road surface but also predicts the need for repairs using AI.
"It also takes into account the repair history and the number of citizen requests for individual sections. By identifying problem areas in advance, it forms an overall picture of the road network's condition. Based on this data, optimal repair timelines are determined. This allows timely elimination of defects and prevents the rise in cost of subsequent repair work," the statement said.
To date, more than 41,000 kilometers of roads of republican significance have been digitized. By the end of the year, it is planned to cover the entire road network of the country, with a total length of 185,000 kilometers, with digital monitoring.
Also, within the framework of digitalization of the road industry, it is planned to increase the number of automated measurement systems from 80 to 220. This will prevent wear and tear of the road surface.
