Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov has revealed how artificial intelligence will assist in coal supplies during the upcoming heating season. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to him, a unified digital platform has been developed to ensure uninterrupted supply of coal to regions. It incorporates elements of artificial intelligence and predictive analysis.
The system contains data on coal mining enterprises, railway carriers, coal terminal operators, and consumers.
"The platform allows real-time monitoring of coal movement from extraction and shipment to delivery to the population and the communal sector, and automatically identifies shortage risks and deviations from approved schedules," Akkenzhenov said at today's government meeting.
The minister noted that due to the country's gasification efforts, the number of households consuming coal is decreasing. For instance, in the upcoming heating season, the demand for coal from the population and communal sector will be 7.3 million tons, compared to 8.3 million tons last year.
