A man in Zharkent stole more than 600 chocolates from a store in a month, reported Polisia.kz. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
A representative of one of the city's shopping centers contacted the police, reporting the systematic disappearance of chocolates of the brand "Rakhat Kazakhstan".
During the review of CCTV recordings, the security service found that a man had been regularly coming to the store for several weeks, hiding chocolates in his bag and pockets, and leaving without paying.
During the investigation, it turned out that the suspect acted in the same way. He entered the store, watching people around him, and put chocolates into his bag. After a few minutes, he returned and repeated his actions. On some days, he made such "raids" five or six times.
In a month, a total of 625 chocolates were stolen from the shopping center. The material damage exceeded 530,000 tenge.
As a result of operational search measures, officers of the Panfilov district police department identified a 41-year-old resident of Zharkent and brought him to the police station. The suspect fully confessed his guilt.
