An Emergency Situations Ministry board was urgently scrambled in the Kyzylorda region to save a newborn. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The infant was promptly transported from Zhanakorgan to a hospital in the regional center. The reason for the emergency transport of the newborn has not been disclosed. However, it is known that the flight was successful and the child is currently under doctors' supervision.
It is reported that a Kazaviaspas helicopter was used for the medical flight. Throughout the entire journey, medics monitored the baby's condition.
Air ambulance statistics
According to the Ministry of Health, in the first eight months of 2026 alone, Kazakhstan's air ambulance service performed almost one and a half thousand flights. During this time, special aircraft urgently delivered 1,543 seriously ill patients to specialized hospitals, and in 4,703 cases doctors provided assistance remotely. It is noted that on average over the year, the air ambulance service performs about two thousand sorties.
Foreign flights
Recall that last year the air ambulance service made 9 foreign flights, evacuating patients from Turkey, Germany, South Korea, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan and Egypt.
In the first eight months of this year, there were just as many such flights — seriously ill patients were collected from Albania, Italy, Turkey, China, Thailand, Russia and Uzbekistan. The organization of all these complex routes is handled by the National Coordination Center for Emergency Medicine.
