A district hospital in Zhambyl Region has been ordered to pay compensation to a patient whose condition sharply deteriorated after treatment for early toxicosis during pregnancy. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The woman was admitted to the hospital at 10 weeks of pregnancy with a diagnosis of "early toxicosis." After premature discharge, her condition worsened, and she was urgently hospitalized in the regional hospital.

Based on medical indications, doctors decided to terminate the pregnancy. Subsequently, the woman was assigned a third disability group.

However, the court later found that the medical care provided was incomplete and did not comply with clinical protocols.

An inspection by the Department of Medical and Pharmaceutical Control revealed a number of violations in the hospital's work. These included non-compliance with clinical protocols, insufficient scope of examinations and treatment, lack of consultations with specialized specialists, and improper maintenance of medical documentation.

The court considered that these violations and the deterioration of the patient's condition were directly linked.

As a result, the district hospital was ordered to pay 246 thousand tenge in material damages, 5 million tenge in compensation for moral harm, and 300 thousand tenge for the payment of a representative's services. One of the doctors was brought to disciplinary responsibility.
