Members of a criminal group who illegally sold psychotropic substances through pharmacies have been sentenced in the Zhambyl region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The criminal group was involved in the illegal sale of psychotropic substances through several pharmacies in the Zhambyl region in 2024-2025. The investigation revealed that the group members conspired with pharmacists and delivered over-the-counter drugs on special orders.
According to the court verdict, the leader of the criminal group was sentenced to 8 years in prison, and the other three members received sentences ranging from 5 to 6 years. Their property was also confiscated. Ten pharmacy employees were also brought to justice in the case.
According to the regional prosecutor's office, the damage caused by the group's illegal activities amounted to more than 15 million tenge. The verdict has entered into legal force.
