An international baige dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev was held in Almaty Region. More than 150 riders from various regions of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic took part in the competitions. Participants competed in kunan baige, top baige, batakur baige and alaman baige. Winners and prize-winners were awarded cars and cash prizes.
Alaman Baige: 25 kilometers
In the longest distance — the 25-kilometer alaman baige — Damir Ilesbek from Pavlodar was the first to reach the finish on the horse "Koksirek." The winner received the main prize — a ROX car. The horse's owner is Iembergen Kuantayev, and the trainer is Kanat Dolotbakov.
Second place went to Almaskhan Bazyrbek from Zhambyl Region on the horse "Baktory," who was awarded 2 million tenge. Third to finish was Mansur Alizhan from Astana on the horse "Kemenger." He was awarded 1.5 million tenge. Fourth place went to Amir Seraly from the village of Kokbastau in Zhambyl District, riding the horse "Zhelkonyr."
Top Baige: 16 kilometers
In the top baige over a distance of 16 kilometers, Merei Garipullin from Balkhash District of Almaty Region won on the horse "Orda." The main prize was a Hyundai Palisade car. The horse's owner is Altynbay Kasym, and the trainer is Zhambyl Bobekbay.
Adilzhan Askhatuly from Karasai District of Almaty Region on the horse "Sekret" took second place and received 1.5 million tenge.
Third to finish was Akhmet Arnur from Almaty on the horse "Tobylgy tory," winning 1 million tenge. Fourth place went to Beibarys Torekhan from the village of Uzynagash in Zhambyl District on the horse "Abadanzor."
Kunan Baige: 11 kilometers
In the kunan baige over a distance of 11 kilometers, Aisultan Samatuly from Balkhash District of Almaty Region was the first to finish on the horse "Bakkara." The winner was presented with the keys to a Changan X5 car. The horse's owner is Nazar Altynbay, and the trainer is Zhambyl Bobekbay.
Second place on the horse "Erkezhiren" went to Ersultan Zharkyn, who received 1 million tenge. Amir Seraly on the horse "Sulu kaska" finished third and won 700 thousand tenge. Umar Talantov from the Kyrgyz Republic on the horse "Baila" took fourth place, while Daryn Berish from Zhetisu Region on the horse "Bairak" took fifth.
Batakur Baige
In the batakur baige, Serzhan Bakytbay from Astana won on the horse "Bomaro." The horse's owner and trainer is Nurzhigit Tabylidiev. Second place went to Temirlan Aidarkhanov from the village of Akainar in Zhambyl District on the horse "Gaukhartas." Third to finish was Damir Ilesbek from Pavlodar on the horse "Tarlan."
Additional Competitions
Alongside the international baige, regional tournaments were held in Kazakh kuresi, asyk atu, lyanga, arm wrestling and kettlebell sport. In total, more than 300 people took part in the sports competitions.
The international baige was organized as part of the anniversary events dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet Zhambyl Zhabayev.
