A pedestrian was seriously injured and hospitalized in intensive care following a road accident on the Western Europe-Western China highway. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the Telegram channel Nalyqstan, on the evening of August 15, a car collided with a cow on the highway. While men were trying to remove the carcass from the road, one of them was hit by a Toyota RAV-4. The driver is suspected to be former Majilis deputy Bakytzhan Bazarbek.

Kursiv requested a comment from the regional police department. The department confirmed the accident and said a criminal case has been opened.

"According to preliminary information, the driver of a Toyota car, citizen B., hit a man who was on the roadway. As a result of the accident, the victim was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the central district hospital," the statement said.

The police also noted that all necessary investigative actions are currently underway.

According to some reports, the injured man is in intensive care in serious condition. He has a closed craniocerebral injury, brain contusion, closed pneumothorax, closed forearm fracture, and open tibia fracture.
