Four people died in a road accident in the village of Kostogan in the Merki district of Zhambyl region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The tragic incident occurred on September 20. According to the regional police department, the driver of a "TANK 500" vehicle drove into oncoming traffic and collided with a "VAZ-2107" car.
As a result, the driver of the "VAZ" and 3 passengers of the SUV died, police say.
The driver of the foreign vehicle was hospitalized in the district hospital.
Social media reports claim that the driver responsible for the accident is an inspector of a special forces unit. However, the police department of Zhambyl region denied this information.
"He is not an employee of internal affairs bodies," the department said.
Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
