Construction of a solid waste processing plant has started in the Zhambyl region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The major investment project is being implemented within the framework of investment cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea. According to Onerbek Seitkhamza, General Director of ForYou Energy LLP, a modern complex for processing solid waste and generating electricity will be built under the project.
"The enterprise will introduce advanced technologies from the Republic of Korea, processing up to 900 tons of solid waste per day and generating up to 20 MW of electricity," the statement said.
During the construction phase, 400 people will be employed. After the plant is fully operational, 200 people will be permanently employed at the enterprise.
