Police officers in Zhambyl Region provided assistance to a bus carrying young footballers from Uzbekistan that broke down on the Western Europe-Western China highway. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Polisia.kz.
The incident occurred at the 568th kilometer of the highway, near the village of Nurlykent in Zhualy District. The bus carried 42 citizens of Uzbekistan — 37 children and five adults. The team was returning home after participating in an international football tournament in Kyrgyzstan when the vehicle broke down.
Upon receiving the report, police officers promptly arrived at the scene. To prevent the children from staying under the scorching sun, they were taken along with the adults to the House of Culture in Nurlykent.
"Hot meals were organized for the guests, drinking water was provided, and all necessary conditions for rest were created," Polisia.kz reported.
After a reserve bus arrived, the young athletes continued their journey home.
The police noted that thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of the officers, the situation was quickly resolved. None of the children were injured as a result of the incident.
