Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova has commented on the condition of a schoolboy who was admitted to intensive care in Zhambyl Region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The incident occurred in the village of Birlesu-Yenbek. A ninth-grade student was beaten by older teenagers. After receiving a blow to the chest, the child lost consciousness and was taken to the intensive care unit.

"The condition of the 14-year-old child is indeed serious; he is currently in a medically induced coma. His condition does not yet allow for transportation. Specialists from the emergency medical care organization are providing necessary consultations via telemedicine and are monitoring the child's condition. Once his condition stabilizes, we will transport him to Astana by air ambulance," Akmaral Alnazarova said at a government briefing.

Police have opened a criminal case in connection with the incident.

It is worth noting that in medicine, to prevent severe consequences, a patient is placed in a medically induced or artificial coma.
