Over 78 million tenge was paid to a contractor for actually uncompleted capital repairs of a school in the T. Ryskulov district of Zhambyl region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the regional prosecutor's office, the prosecutor's office of T. Ryskulov district conducted an analysis of the legality of budget spending. It was established that during the capital repairs of the secondary school named after Kanysh Satpayev, the contractor was unjustifiably paid over 78 million tenge for actually uncompleted work.
By the act of prosecutor's supervision, this money was returned to the budget. In addition, the customer represented by the district education department, the contractor, as well as persons who carried out author and technical supervision, were brought to administrative responsibility under Article 317 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Allowing by persons carrying out author supervision of non-compliance of completed (ongoing) construction and installation works with approved design solutions, violations of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan during expert work and engineering services) for a total of 1.4 million tenge.
As a result of the measures taken, the contractor completed the work in full and on time, after which the school was put into operation.

The return of illegally paid funds and bringing the guilty to justice demonstrate the effectiveness of the supervisory function of state bodies.
