In the Zhambyl region, a project to concrete 14 canals using saved funds is being implemented. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, within the framework of the irrigation network reconstruction project implemented jointly with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, concrete works are being carried out on 14 canals in the Zhambyl region using saved funds. The total length of these canals is 85.5 km.

Currently, construction and installation works are underway on the canals "Sambet", "Baizak", "Zhambyl", "Kuat", "Kuat right bank", "Kuat left bank", "Ismail", "Boshakay", "Boshakay-1", "Boshakay-2", "Saza", "Saza lower" and "Aitak" with a total length of about 80 km.

According to Vice Minister Zhandos Salimov, 46 projects were completed in 2019-2025. Within these projects, reconstruction of canals with a total length of 532 km was carried out. This year, it is planned to complete five more existing projects.

In addition, in the Baizak district of the Zhambyl region, design and estimate documentation has been developed for 17 canals with a total length of 85.3 km. It is planned to start construction and installation works on 5 canals before the end of the year.
