Kazakhstan has cracked down on a scheme of illegal production and sale of fake license plates. The organizer was detained in Almaty, and fake plates were sent to buyers across Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The operation was carried out by the transport police department under the coordination of the General Transport Prosecutor's Office. According to the investigation, the organizer established the sale of fake license plates. They were delivered from Russia via express delivery service and then sent to customers in various regions of Kazakhstan.
During searches, law enforcement officers seized fake license plates and other physical evidence.
Currently, all participants in the illegal scheme are being identified. The prosecutor's office reminded that the use of fake state registration plates is a criminal offense and poses a threat to road safety.
The department explained that additional information is not disclosed in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Kazakhstan.
