During a working trip to the West Kazakhstan region, the leadership of the Ministry of Transport reviewed the progress of developing a project for the construction of a new automobile bridge across the Zhaiyk River. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The project is aimed at ensuring safe and uninterrupted traffic on an international highway. The new bridge will be built next to the existing one, which was declared emergency based on the results of a technical inspection.
The project provides for the construction of an 8-kilometer-long highway, as well as two modern monolithic bridges. In particular, the length of the channel bridge will be 513 meters, and the length of the bridge in the river floodplain will be 1710 meters.
Currently, the feasibility study of the project has been developed and agreed with authorized state bodies. The use of modern engineering solutions and technologies will significantly increase the reliability of transport infrastructure, increase the capacity of the road section, and ensure long-term and safe operation of the facility.
Following the review of the project, the leadership of the Ministry of Transport instructed to speed up the procedures for passing state expertise, determine the sources of financing for construction works in a short time, and also exercise strict control over the quality of construction at all stages of project implementation.
