Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that authorities may consider the possibility of holding elections in an online format. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to him, parliament will need to find an appropriate solution for this. Zelensky said this in an interview with the German TV channel ZDF, as reported by TSN.
According to Zelensky, one of the main problems in organizing elections is ensuring the opportunity for military personnel at the front to vote.
«The Armed Forces are at the front, they are also against elections, since they do not have the opportunity to vote. Is this fair? Millions of people are in trenches, and technically it is impossible to organize this,» he said.
As a possible alternative, the Ukrainian president named online voting. At the same time, he emphasized that such an option would require a decision by parliament.
«This is possible, but then parliament will have to seek and find a solution,» Zelensky said.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump criticized Zelensky and said that Ukraine should elect a new leader capable of making deals.
Earlier, «Kursiv» wrote that US President Donald Trump said that the settlement of the war between Russia and Ukraine is close, and a future agreement could affect all of Europe.
