Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine would survive the winter if the US provided five percent of its ammunition for Patriot air defense systems. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In an interview with CNN, Zelensky said: "I am trying to reach some agreement to get missiles."
Earlier, the Financial Times reported that US President Donald Trump had rejected Zelensky's request to supply interceptor missiles for Patriot systems. The White House chief explained this decision by a missile shortage.
On August 12, Reuters reported that despite Trump's doubts about this deal, the US is discussing issuing a license to produce missiles for Patriot systems for Ukraine.
