On June 10, Verkhovna Rada deputy Nina Yuzhanina announced that the Ukrainian parliament had approved an increase in the country's military budget expenditures for 2026. At the end of May, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported that the Rada had approved in the first reading an increase in military budget expenditures by $35.2 billion.

According to data published on the parliament's website, the document on amendments to the state budget law for the current year regarding the financing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was returned with Zelensky's signature. The planned deficit of Ukraine's state budget for 2026 is set at about 45 billion (approximately 1.9 trillion hryvnias). These funds will be mainly spent on defense. To cover the deficit, the country fully relies on financial assistance from international partners, including the West.
