Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Askarbek Yertayev reported to the president on the work of the department in 2025 and the first five months of this year. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the minister, in 2025, 5.9 trillion tenge was spent on pensions, basic benefits, and other social payments. In the first five months of this year, this figure amounted to 2.7 trillion tenge. The state's social obligations are being fulfilled in full.
This year, about 12,000 citizens with disabilities have been employed. By the end of the year, it is planned to introduce a digital analysis mechanism for determining disability. Across the country, about 201,000 citizens, including 74,900 young people, have been employed.
Yertayev added that this year the task is set to increase the number of stable and sustainable jobs with decent wages, regular social contributions, and occupational safety to 3.1 million. 6.7 million employment contracts have been concluded in electronic format. Over 118,000 employees of enterprises are covered by compulsory insurance contracts. With the help of labor inspectors, the rights of more than 22,000 workers have been protected.
The head of state instructed to improve the quality of special social services and open 7 new rehabilitation centers in the regions of the country. He also gave a number of tasks on further digitalization of the industry, protection of workers' rights, assistance to those in need, and combating social dependency.
