Two fishermen who drowned in the water are being searched for in the Tagil rural district of Tarbagatay district in the East Kazakhstan region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the regional emergency situations department, the fishermen's boat capsized. Three people went out on a boat to fish.
Due to strong winds, the boat overturned. One of the fishermen, born in 1968, saved himself by swimming. He was rescued by local residents, the department says.
According to the department, two people — born in 1968 and 1995 — drowned. They did not have life jackets.
An operational headquarters was set up at the scene. Forces and means of the emergency situations department, unmanned aerial vehicles, boats, floating equipment and underwater drones have been deployed to conduct search and rescue operations.
Search efforts continue.
