The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported the completion of search operations for two men who went missing in Lake Zaisan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to reports, on September 22, in the Kurshim district of the East Kazakhstan region, in the Balykshy rural district, two men born in 1979 and 2001 went fishing on Lake Zaisan and did not return.
Continuous search operations were organized by the forces and means of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, with local residents participating in the search using their own boats.
"On the first day of search operations, a sunken boat was found 3-4 kilometers from the shore. On September 29, local residents found the body of the man born in 2001. On September 30, rescuers recovered the body of the man born in 1979 from the water," the statement said.
During the search operations, rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted 63 dives and inspected the shoreline and the lake's water area, including with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
The search was complicated by unfavorable weather conditions, strong winds and waves on the water surface, as well as the large area of the water zone being inspected. This significantly hindered the work of divers and the movement of search groups on the water, rescuers say.
Recall that on September 17, reports emerged that the boat of three men who had gone fishing capsized and they drowned. Three survived by swimming on their own. The bodies of two fishermen born in 1968 and 1995 were found a day later.
