Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on reports about US and Turkish plans to supply weapons to Kyiv. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"It is unclear with what intention the US and Turkish authorities want to initiate a plan to supply weapons to Ukraine," the ministry's website said in a commentary.
In addition, the Foreign Ministry said this concerns countries that play a special role in resolving the Ukrainian crisis and declare political and diplomatic solutions as a priority.
According to official US Congress documents, the State Department has notified about the transfer to Ukraine of American weapons systems stored in Turkey, including launchers for the MLRS multiple launch rocket system and ATACMS ballistic missiles.
These deliveries are planned to be carried out through Turkish private companies MKE, ASFAT and ARCA Savunma, Bulgarian private company VTIC International Ltd., and American private companies Pansophico and Patriot Defense Group.
