The third Grand Slam tournament of the year, Wimbledon, concluded with victories by Italian Jannik Sinner and Czech Linda Noskova. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

In the absence of Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who is recovering from an injury, Sinner confidently defended his title from last year. Only at the start did the world number one need five sets to overcome the resistance of Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic (50). For Portuguese Nuno Borges (48), American Jenson Brooksby (81), Japanese Shintaro Mochizuki (151), German Jan-Lennard Struff (74), and even the great Serbian Novak Djokovic (8), a seven-time Wimbledon champion, three sets were enough.

In the final, which lasted 3 hours and 45 minutes, Sinner defeated German Alexander Zverev (3) in four sets – 6:7 (7:9), 7:6 (7:2), 6:3, 6:4.

A new star has emerged in women's tennis. The princess of Wimbledon is 21-year-old Czech Linda Noskova. In the final, the world number 12 defeated her compatriot Karolina Muchova (9) – 6:2, 5:7, 6:3.

Overall, the women's Wimbledon is becoming a Czech domain. Three of the last four tournaments have been won by tennis players from this country. Interestingly, since 2017, there has always been a new winner on the London grass.

Note that Serena Williams' victory at Wimbledon 2016 was her seventh. Such consistency is only a dream for the new generation of tennis stars. The last seven Grand Slam tournaments have had seven different winners!
