Servers storing personal data of Kazakhstani Yandex users are operating normally. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The Ministry of AI and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that disruptions in the operation of Yandex services raised reasonable questions about the reliability of digital platforms that citizens of Kazakhstan use daily.

Official statement from the ministry

"The servers intended for storing personal data of users from Kazakhstan are located on the territory of the country and are operating normally. At the same time, this does not mean that the entire platform functions autonomously; certain components necessary for providing taxi and delivery services are located outside Kazakhstan. Ensuring uninterrupted operation of services is of paramount importance for users. In this regard, placing data on the territory of Kazakhstan and ensuring sustainable functioning of digital platforms are separate tasks requiring a comprehensive solution," the ministry stated.

Restoration work continues

The Ministry of AI also confirmed that Yandex is currently carrying out restoration work.

"The ministry is interacting with the company and Kazakhstani infrastructure organizations on providing necessary support. Simultaneously, work is being carried out with other taxi and delivery platforms to ensure their resilience under increasing load," the ministry's statement says.

What happened earlier

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Yandex taxi and delivery services stopped working in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstanis report that Yandex services have stopped working for them. Many faced difficulties when ordering a taxi and write that they cannot get to planned events. Kursiv correspondents also checked the operability of the services and confirmed that at the moment it is impossible to order a taxi or food delivery.

The press service of Yandex Go confirmed that services are operating with errors or may be temporarily unavailable.
