The remuneration of the board members of the Ulba Metallurgical Plant (UMP), part of Kazatomprom, amounted to 230.4 million tenge in 2025. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media. This is 8.6% less compared to 2024, when 252.1 million tenge were allocated for management payments.
However, the average payment per board member increased significantly. In 2024, seven top managers received an average of 36 million tenge each, while in 2025, five board members earned 46.1 million tenge each. The increase was about 28%, or 10.1 million tenge per person.
Over the past five years, spending on UMP management remuneration has increased by more than 70%. In 2020, five board members received a total of 135.2 million tenge, while in 2025 the amount reached 230.4 million tenge. Thus, over this period, payments increased by 95.2 million tenge.
The average remuneration per board member also increased. In 2020, it was 27 million tenge, and in 2025 it reached 46.1 million tenge.

The sole shareholder of the Ulba Metallurgical Plant is the national atomic company Kazatomprom.
The plant's net profit for 2025 amounted to 6.4 billion tenge, down by about 3.4 billion year-on-year.
The Ulba Metallurgical Plant is located in Ust-Kamenogorsk and produces nuclear fuel, as well as products from beryllium, tantalum, and niobium.
