The Russian Foreign Ministry has asked the US and Turkey for clarification regarding information published by the US Congress about plans to supply weapons to Kiev. This was stated on Saturday by the official representative of the ministry, Maria Zakharova.
The Turkish Presidential Administration told RIA Novosti that it was unaware of Moscow's request regarding Ankara's plans to supply weapons to Kiev.
Sefa noted that confirmation of such plans could negatively affect not only military-political cooperation between the two countries, but also the overall level of bilateral relations. In his assessment, trust is one of the key factors in Russian-Turkish relations. Therefore, any actions by Ankara that could cast doubt on it would lead to serious consequences.
According to official US Congress documents, the State Department has notified Ukraine of the transfer of American weapons systems stored in Turkey, including launchers for the MLRS multiple launch rocket system and ATACMS ballistic missiles.
