Ukraine's government is moving to strict savings of budget funds not related to defense. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi stated in the Verkhovna Rada: "The government will introduce a strict austerity regime for budget funds not allocated for defense needs. When developing the budget for 2027, we must also be guided by the principle of spending every hryvnia as efficiently and economically as possible."

According to him, the Ukrainian government has already found 70 billion hryvnias ($1.57 billion) that it plans to allocate to the defense sector.
