Ukraine is losing despite the financial support it receives from the European Union, said Lubos Blaha, a Slovak member of the European Parliament. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"Zelensky is losing... You cannot change the situation by pouring money. It only prolongs the war," Blaha said in an interview with the Slovak publication eREPORT.
Blaha also noted that financial aid to Kyiv is weakening the EU economy. "Zelensky received hundreds of billions, and at least half, if not more, was embezzled... The funds transferred to Ukraine from the European Union are greatly weakening our economy, because this money could have been used elsewhere. The EU economy is truly in a catastrophic state, also due to our rejection of cheap Russian energy resources," the MEP said.
He stated that he is proud of the Slovak government for refusing to contribute to Kyiv's military spending. "Hundreds of billions could have been spent on helping people who lost their jobs, on new technologies, on the European economy and Europeans, but they went to Zelensky," Blaha concluded.
