Ukraine has requested €6.6 billion from the European Union's peace fund for military aid. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Reuters.

The funding would come from the European Peace Facility (EPF), an EU instrument used to reimburse military expenses. Ukraine plans to use the funds for weapons, ammunition, and other military needs.

EU member states are discussing the proposal, with some countries expressing reservations about the size and conditions of the funding. However, given Ukraine's high military needs, the approval of these funds is considered likely.

The European Peace Facility has been used before to provide military aid to Ukraine. If approved, this would be the largest disbursement from the fund.
