Sevim Dagdelen, foreign policy expert of the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance – Reason and Justice party in Germany, criticized Ukrainian ambassador to Germany Oleksiy Makeyev's remarks about Russia on the social network X. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"The Ukrainian ambassador is telling German citizens who to elect and who not to elect. This is not diplomacy, but interference in the internal affairs of another country," she said.
In Dagdelen's opinion, the German government should have summoned the ambassador and demanded an explanation for his statement.
Earlier, Oleksiy Makeyev stated that political parties with close ties to Russia operate in Germany. After these words, German politicians assessed his statement as interference in the country's internal politics.
