Ukraine's Defense Ministry announced that Denmark has provided more than 50,000 rounds for the onboard cannons of F-16 fighter jets used by Ukraine's Armed Forces. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to open sources, American F-16 fighter jets are equipped with the 20mm M61A1 Vulcan aircraft cannon.

"Denmark has provided Ukraine with more than 50,000 rounds of 20mm caliber for the onboard cannons of F-16 fighter jets on an accelerated basis," the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said in a message published on its Telegram channel.

According to the Ukrainian defense agency, Ukraine's Armed Forces intend to use these rounds to intercept jet-powered strike unmanned aerial vehicles.

The transfer of ammunition is seen as a step aimed at strengthening the capabilities of Ukraine's air force. However, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry did not disclose further details.

Denmark has previously participated in initiatives to supply F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. The delivery of these rounds is a continuation of that cooperation.

Ukraine's Armed Forces are seeking to strengthen air defense and gain superiority in airspace through the use of F-16 aircraft. The provided ammunition is considered an important resource toward achieving this goal.

Earlier, in the context of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, it became known that Trump stated the US could tighten sanctions against Russia at any moment.
