Ukraine has promised the US not to attack the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) facilities in the Black Sea and tankers not related to Russia. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The US has reached an agreement with Ukraine on not striking the infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), used for exporting Kazakh oil in the Black Sea, as well as tankers not related to Russia, Bloomberg reports, citing an American official.
"Under the agreement reached with the US, Ukraine has committed to refraining from attacks on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium infrastructure, as well as on vessels not related to Russia heading to the terminal. At the same time, these vessels must not be subject to Ukrainian sanctions and must not carry Russian cargo," the report said.
According to the agency, amid recent drone attacks that disrupted loading operations near Novorossiysk and triggered a rise in global oil prices, Kyiv agreed to these restrictions after negotiations with senior US officials.
At the same time, Ukraine demanded that shipowners fulfill a number of requirements, namely: tankers must not belong to Russian individuals or legal entities, they must not carry Russian oil, and the vessels themselves must not be subject to sanctions imposed by Kyiv.
It is worth noting that 80% of Kazakhstan's oil exports are transported through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. Major shareholders include Kazakhstan (KazMunayGas), Russia (Transneft), Lukoil structures, as well as Rosneft, ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Shell.
