Books, souvenirs, and goods featuring Pavel Durov's image may disappear from Wildberries and Ozon. The marketplaces have started checking their assortment after the Telegram co-founder was added to the list of terrorists and extremists in Russia. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The press service of the combined company RVB (Wildberries & Russ) said they are conducting an internal check to assess whether such goods fall under restrictions. If violations are confirmed, product cards linked to Durov will be blocked.
Ozon stated that they act in accordance with Russian legislation. After a person or materials are included in the list of terrorists and extremists, the company checks the assortment and removes relevant items.
"In the near future, goods directly related to Pavel Durov, including books and products with his image, will be hidden from our showcase," the marketplace's press service reported.
Earlier, Rosfinmonitoring added Pavel Durov to the list of terrorists and extremists. Before that, he was charged in Russia with aiding terrorist activities and a procedure for declaring him internationally wanted was initiated.
According to the Russian FSB, Telegram's administration did not delete channels, chats, and bots that, as the agency claims, were used to prepare and coordinate terrorist and other illegal activities. Roskomnadzor also stated that it had previously sent over 150 thousand requests to the messenger's team to remove prohibited content, but they were not fulfilled.
